Jadite Cake Stand

0011

I’ve got a little fascination for all things jadite. Whether its new or old, I’m just in love with the stuff! Before this past Friday I had a few pieces, three nesting bowls and one pretty mixing bowl. When my sister Deb and my daughter Alexa and I were in Washington at the Antique Fair on the grounds of the Old Schoolhouse Antique Mall on Friday she found and bought some fabulous pieces as a gift to me! The cutest little bunny jar, sugar and cream dishes and a lovely vase and she got them at a very, very good price, half off of the listed price as they were having a sale for the antique fair. She is such a sweetie I gotta say! After we left the Old School House Antique Mall we went into downtown Washington and found one of Washington’s Finest Antique stores open for business. The Steel Magnolia Antique store had the prettiest jadite cake stand on display and I just had to have it of course. Here it is with a pretty chocolate cake on it, this was one of our desserts for our Saturday night LSU game party.

Isn’t it just lovely! I’m going to have to find a glass dome to fit the stand, won’t that be so pretty? The fun in finding pieces to add to this collection is just unbelievable! Have a fun Monday!
