Monday Monday

I switched days with the boy's nanny from Tuesday to Monday and had a fun day with the guys. They're learning how to hold their own bottles and are doing remarkably well with it. Play time is a lot more fun since they're almost sitting on their own too, they're happier in the walker and bouning chair than anything lately, they do both love the mobility of the walker and we're going to have to get another one for them soon. Since Davey and Claire's home doesn't have multi level floors, they're very safe in them, especially since we keep a watchful eye on them at all times. Naptime on their bellies is also a good thing, they're older now and wake easily when sleeping on their backs during the day, when they're on their tummies, they don't seem to mind daytime noises as much and sleep longer and more soundly. The day went by too quickly though and before I knew it my time with them was up for the day and their Daddy came home a little early for me to plan my photographic society meeting for that night.

This next group of photos is all about my new lil dishes for summer. I went with an aqua theme and found adorable dishes and napkins at Target and Pier 1. Alexa is going to make custom beaded napkin rings to bring out the brown and aqua in the dishes (the green ones are from a previous set, given to me by my sister, and where we got the idea to do our own custom rings). I adore the pretty lantern style candle holders and am going to get a little centerpiece made this week to go with the new theme.

Sweet Dreaming

These two boys have me wrapped around their little fingers... they're just so stinkin' sweet! I used the same template and two different kits to highlight the colors in the photos to create these matched up but different layouts featuring Eli and Alex. The top layout was created using Shabby Miss Jenn Designs Tree Trimmin' kit and the bottom one was made with her Xmas Market. Neither of these layouts has anything to do with Christmas, but the papers and elements certainly can be used for a 'non' holiday layout!! The template can be found at Kissed Studio, its Template T0094 which is in Template Pack TP010.

Five Months Old

This layout celebrates the boys five month birthday, we take photos of them each and every month on the 17th with their bears.

I reused a layout in "quick page" form to create this layout, one of the things that is so very cool about having done the 'work' of creating a layout for one grandchild and using it for another with a different title, journaling and photos. Sure does make my scrapping lots of photos quickly a breeze!! See the original post here: Zoo of Acadiana

Where has the time gone?

Its flying I tell ya! Alex and Elijah are already FIVE months old!! It blows me away at times. I just have to say to their parents... take it nice and slow, don't be in a hurry for anything, these moments with them as babies are fleeting, it goes by so quickly... the words of a new country song, performed by Trace Atkins says it so well.
You’re gonna miss this
You’re gonna want this back
You’re gonna wish these days hadn’t gone by so fast
These are some good times
So take a good look around
You may not know it now
But you’re gonna miss this
This is exactly how I feel about my little boy, their daddy... it feels like he was born just a few years ago at most, and now he's a daddy himself. Treasure these days, embrace the quiet times, enjoy each stage, every moment of their lives, ...time sure is fleeting.

My Favorite Boys

Last week when I was over at Alex and Eli's house, I took photos of them that I just have to share. Eli and Alex are both loving sitting up in the bumbo, they also adore practicing sitting up on their own holding our hands. They're both grasping their toys and holding them and chewing on them a lot lately. When we hold a toy up in front of Eli, he grabs it with his right hand, when we hold one up in front of Alex, he will almost always take it from us with his left hand. Maybe we do have mirror twins on our hands. (Pop is left handed, he thinks its cool that one of them could be like him that way as well) Our sweet boys also love their soft and cozy blue blankets. Mom and Dad wrap them up in them at night and it helps them to relax, wind down and get to sleep easier. Alex is pictured with his, he is a bit more attached to it and loves how soft it is. We have a couple of absolutely sweet and adorable guys!!

Happy Father's Day

Here are all our handsome guys... Dave holding Eli and Davey holding Alex. We had a wonderful Father's Day. After going to mass together with Alexa and Erica, the boys and their parents Davey and Claire we met up with Kali and Krista, her boyfriend Zach and Zach's son Ian for a wonderful and delicious mexican lunch at La Hacienda in Broussard. After a short break at home, Dave and I took a little trip to the 'man store' with Davey, Claire, Alex, Eli and Erica ... it was over to Academy Sporting Goods for some prep shopping for an upcoming fishing trip for the men. After arriving back at home in the evening, Dave, Erica and I fed the animals and took a much needed walk around the back pasture. I wanted to check out the new shade shed for the cows and to check out a fallen tree limb along the fence line. We surveyed the location for the new project the guys have going on. After digging out the acre pond on our property, the guys are going to put up a dock for fishing on the north end of the pond. I'll take photos of the activity out there soon and put it up on my blog. Its going to be a great place for relaxing after work and on weekends. Happy Father's Day to the Daves!
The little outfits the boys are wearing come from their mom's friend at work. Marc got them for the boys in Japan on a recent visit and the boys are just too cute in them! Thanks Mr. Marc from Alex and Eli!

Story Time

These two adore going to story time at the library more than almost anything! Riley and Kali are so well behaved on Thursday mornings at story time, they love listening to the stories Mrs. Sarah reads to them and they really enjoy the craft activity she has planned each week. This week they made amazingly beautiful colored stars. We look forward to Thursday mornings around here just like we did when our kids were their ages, because we did the very same thing with them. Playing Together

Alex and Eli have really found one another and when we put them on their blanket on the floor together they make the cutest connection. One is always a little more interested in the interaction, but that's ok because it goes back and forth between the two. Its still lots of fun watching them playing. Little Darlin' Garden Girl

Kali was posing for her mom to take some photos of her out in the garden at our house. She's such a cutie pie! Click on the image to see a larger version of the layout and the full credits.

Time, Slow Down!

Alex and Eli are just growing up so very fast ... I wish, oh how I wish I could just slow it down and enjoy this time for a little bit longer, they're almost sitting up and they're rolling from front to back and back to front... its all going way too quickly. I'm enjoying each stage, but it sure feels like its flying by! If only we could slow the time by about half as fast, its so fleeting! Click on image to see larger version of layout.
This morning Kali will be going to storytime at the library with Eli and Alex, they all enjoy the stories and the activities!

Kali at the Kiddie Fair

In just a few weeks our family will head out to vacation on the Gulf Coast for two weeks. Kali is probably the most excited of the entire family and is really looking forward to our family time there. She will, no doubt, be ready to go to the kiddie fair at The Track as soon as we get out there! I created this layout memory of her using Shabby Miss Jenn Design's Hipster Moms kit.

A Few Firsts

This weekend Alex and Eli started a few firsts.... eating their cereal with a spoon and hanging out in their jumpers their Daddy put up for them. Both were highly successful ventures and just added to their happiness and joy. Here are a few layouts created with a freebie template that will soon go up at Kissed Studio. Be on the lookout for it! Have a super Tuesday! Both layouts were created using Shabby Miss Jenn Products.
