Treasured Adored and Loved

They most certainly are that... treasured, adored and loved! These two sweethearts are the light of their mother and father's eyes and hearts and they're such good babies. The photos on the side of the main image show them with their Pop, who also thinks they're the coolest thing since sliced bread! Click on the image for a larger version which is in my DigiShopTalk gallery, full credits listed there also for scrapbook materials.

Have a fabulous Monday!

The Verdict is In

So, although we have a very easy time telling the boys apart, the lab test shows that they are indeed identical. When Claire went to the OB/GYN yesterday for her checkup, they had the results of the tests to give to her. We're happy to know that they're identical, but we're also very glad that we can tell them apart so easily. Even Kali gets it right any time you ask who's who. I'm going to post a few pics here today ... of the boys with their caps on, everyone can guess who's who from the pics except Honey (Claire's mom, I know she could figure it out quickly and easily, she sees the boys almost daily.) But I wanna see who's paying attention out there in BlogLand! So go ahead and post your guesses. I'll reveal who's who tonight. So start guessing... Who's Who?

Romantic Dinner for Two

Don't ya just love it when the food you prepare is enjoyed by those you cook for. Well this was the case this past Friday night. Had I created this type of meal for the children who are still living at home, I don't think it would have been appreciated as much as the usual fare I prepare. Dave sucked it up and enjoyed every bite. Instead of dining out, I cooked in, while he did the grilling.
I have to tell everyone about the seasoning blend I'm nuts over, and have been since I found it at the Sugarena Hot Sauce Festival a few years go, is Cajun Zing. It is just the perfect blend of seasonings, spicy but not too hot and peppery and not too salty. It compliments my food without covering the delicious flavor. I love that their seasoning doesn't have MSG in it! Cajun Zing Homepage HERE
I also adore Tabasco's Grilling/Marinade Sauce! I used it on the Tuna and it was fabulous! I love this stuff on almost anything! You can find it in the Tabasco General Store online.
After our meal we went to the movies and saw Definitely, Maybe. It was a delightful and relaxing movie, the little actress in it is superb.
I've been asked many times so I'm including the dish info here. I bought the gold fleur de lis dishes at Dillards just after Christmas when I was returning other dishes I'd bought because I had too many sets. Go figure that one!
Click on the image to see a larger version. Fleur de lis pin and heart are from a sweet little kit by Zazou called "Avec Amour". How much more perfect could that name be!

Who wants new pics of the boys?

Eli & Alex arrive for a visit!
Alex Scott
Eli, Kali & Alex
Elijah James
Kali & Eli
I say this because I don't have a clue about who is checking in on my blog for new photos of Alex, Eli and of course our girl Kali. Please do post and lemme know who's watching my blog!!

These photos were taken when our favorite lil fellows came over for an afternoon last weekend. They're filling out and are such good babies. Claire and Davey have no idea how blessed they are, they've never been around serious crybabies!

As you can see in the photos, Kali is a very happy big cousin, so attentive and gentle with Alex and Eli. The boppy is a wonderful thing and it sure helps her hold the boys safely, I love those things! She's holding Eli in the boppy in the photo above.
This Saturday the boys will be baptised. I will have photos of them up before Dave and I leave on our island vacation. Have a fab day!
*As always clicking on an image on my blog will direct you to a larger version of the image.

Alex, Eli & Kali - Feb 20, 2008

On Wednesday I went over to Davey and Claire's house to watch Alex while Claire and Beki brought Eli into the pediatric cardiologist's office. I was able to shoot a few photos of Alex while they were gone, then Eli got his turn in front of the camera later in the afternoon. Eli's doctor said that he is doing fine and that the little murmur isn't something we need to worry about. It will likely heal itself in time and if it doesn't that it is mild and that many people live their whole lives very normally with them. After school on Wednesday, Kali came over to visit the boys at their house and we took a few photos of her with Alex. She loves holding the boys and he was awake for quite a while and she loved playing with him and giving him attention. That evening after Kali and Krista left, Claire gave the boys their bath (quite independantly I might add, all by herself) and I took more pics of them in their little gowns. They sure were expressive after bathtime!

Sweet Dreams Baby

Here's a layout and photos of our little men sleeping on the ottoman. Mom sits on the sofa with a watchful eye on the boys while they enjoy the bright and sunny den. They're a month old now and have gained a healthy amount of weight. Alex started out at 5 lbs. 9 oz. and now weighs 8 lbs. 2 oz. and Eli was 5 lbs 10 oz. at birth and is now 8 lbs. 8 oz. They're growing and happy, content baby boys.

Valentine's Day Table Setting

I really do enjoy setting a pretty table. Our kitchen table is set simply with a soup bowl and salad/sandwich plate. I used these red and cream dishes for Christmas with a totally different look, and loved them with these roses for Valentine's day as well. I created a monochromatic layout of cream colored papers and elements to highlight the rich red in the images using all Shabby Miss Jenn products. First Visit to Lolli & Pop's House

Our boys came over for a few hours on Feb. 10th while Mom & Dad went to see a good friend. They arrived in their carseats but didn't stay in them for very long. After eating they napped on Lolli's love seat for a good long while. We're having them over for a few hours tomorrow night and we're so excited, we can hardly wait!

Hello my name is Alex Scott

These are all photos of Alex. Click on image to see full list of credits and larger version of this layout. This is the how the journaling reads:

I'm the first born twin of Mama Claire and Daddy David. I was born just a few seconds before my brother Elijah James. Today I am two weeks old and I am drinking three ounces of milk and keeping it down. Like my brother I'm not a fan of the diaper changing sessions. I have tinkled on many people, and now they are very careful when they take my diaper off. I'm prone to spitting up on anyone who rocks me in a rocker. This isn't a good sign for future trips to Disney World. I may get queasy like my daddy. Hahaha!

Hello my name is Elijah James

This layout is full of photos of Elijah. Click on the image for credits and a larger version of the layout. The journaling reads:
I'm the second born twin of Mama Claire and Daddy David. I just turned two weeks old today. I have a brother named Alex Scott who was born a few seconds before me. I am expressive and happy. I can already drink three ounces of milk and keep it all down. I don't like having my diaper changed because its cold and I will occasionally tinkle on whoever is changing me if they take too long and I get a chill. Daddy says my poopy is like silly string, so I made some on his pants when he changed me. Hahaha!

Reading in the Boy's Nursery

Kali had a fine time reading in Alex and Eli's nursery when we went over last Thursday. She enjoys their story books and can't wait until she can read them on her own to the babies. She was very excited that we registered her for "big girl" school yesterday for the fall school semester. She will definately be reading to them by Christmas time. He's in my Heart

Daddy & Kali the day after she was born.

Mom Krista, Kali and Daddy Byron

on Kali's Baptism Day - Summer '04.

These simple words are from the mouth of a three and a half year old, they are comforting to hear, but still difficult. This afternoon's conversation after preschool with my girl Kali wasn't at all the typical banter we normally have. She asked to see her mom after school, and then asked if her Daddy was still in heaven. Her father, Byron was in a horrible boating accident on Saturday afternoon and he's gone. He was a very close friend of our son Davey's since early childhood, vacationed with us often and the father of our only granddaughter Kali. He was as much a part of our family as anyone actually blood related and our hearts are broken with his passing. He and my daughter Krista had a good relationship and were good friends and always had the best interest of Kali at heart. Until tonight, I just couldn't find the words to express myself and compose a post on my blog. I will spend the next few hours scanning photos of him that we had in our albums and that his family has shared with us to create a slide show for the wake and for all of us to have memories to keep, especially Kali. So please say a prayer for little Kali, for our family and for his Wife, Mother, Father, Sisters, Brothers in law and his neice and nephews, in the next few days, the wake and funeral will be especially difficult for everyone. He truly will be missed for our hearts are hurting and broken.

Rest In Peace Byron, we love you.

Daddy Loves His Boys

I'm so looking forward to tonight when we get to babysit the boys for a few hours while Claire and Davey celebrate their friend Brooke's birthday. We'll have new photos of the boys on the blog tomorrow for sure! I can't wait to get there and snuggle with our sweet boys Alex and Eli!

Our boys are growing too fast. These last three weeks have flown by! On Thursday they were three weeks old and are both drinking four ounces. On Thursday night they BOTH slept for six hours before waking for a bottle. THAT sure made mom proud, and dad was so rested he got up for the feeding even though it wasn't necessary!

Mardi Gras Fun NOLA Style

Our Mardi Gras experience in New Orleans was a huge success again this year! Big Poppa took his girls to the city for a whole lot of fun and festivities. The parade route was colorful and exciting, Kali and Erica enjoyed the parades the absolute most! Catching beads (which were, for the most part, left behind with other guests of the city due to a shortage of space in the car) was a huge blast! Seeing the grand marshals of the parades was also fabulous. Kevin Costner and Hulk Hogan were riding in our two favorite parades, Endymion and Bacchus. Les Miles, Head Coach at LSU was also on a Bacchus parade float along with lots of the 2008 National Championship Football team members.
We also enjoyed the flavor of New Orleans, from Popeye's delicious fried chicken to Alabi's late night yummies and oysters at the Bourbon House, everything was fabulous!

More photos to come in the next few weeks as I add pages to our family scrapbook.
