ListersGottaList Days #19, 20 and 21

Getting caught up so I can finish the month with all of my challenges completed is the goal this week! Between games, play dough and making meals and snacks for Miss Caroline I was able to fit in three #listersgottalistAUGUST #listersgottalist @kmalarson challenge days and get them into the book!

Planning like a boss...

This whole planner thing is right up my alley, so I came up with this planner kit, I designed it for my personal use with Shabby Miss Jenn Designs "Country Girl" kit. Planner stickers, journal cards, Take-Away list, desktop week at a glance. @kmalarson #iheartplanning #planneraddict #planninglikeaboss

They Love School!

Alex and Eli started the second grade this year at SES and are having a great start to the new year. They love reading and learning new things about the world around them. I scrapped this adorable photo of them on their first day of school that their "Honey" took of them before school with Shabby Miss Jenn Designs little kit "Learning is Fun" and they certainly think it is!

... but first!

Planning to plan is too much fun, getting it all done, is another story entirely. Working like a BOSS LADY today to check things off the TO Do and Lists!

Coffee Quote 25

I love it, that is all! Have a happy day y'all!

Days 11 & 12

I especially love the color combinations of my #listersgottalist challenge pages today. Day 12 (and I'm almost caught up! Yay!) #listersgottalistAUGUST #listersgottalist @kmalarson I've developed my lists into journaling I suppose and that's ok with me for my understanding is that there's no wrong way to do these. My favorite combination of colors in life is Navy and Pink, I've used them on today's list and am quite pleased. Happy listing y'all!

Almost today's challenge...

... but I will need a few more hours to get it done and uploaded. Here's Day 10 and I'm in love with the GOLD accessories! I think I'm going to need some more gold for Saint's football season soon! ;)

Day 090 and Getting Caught Up

The #listersgottalist challenge is an amazing opportunity to journal and write your own thoughts and memories for yourself or to leave for those who love you after you're gone. Its become my favorite creative outlet and defining my style for this one has been a whole lot easier than most challenges have been. Today I'm posting my Day 09 and loving the color combination even though orange is one of my least favorite colors, when it is paired with teal its simply stunning. I'm a happy journaler today!

Playing Catch Up

After a fantastic weekend in New Orleans where Dave and I participated in our first Red Dress Run I was ready to settle into my challenges, quotes and lists!

I continued with my Hand Lettering exercises while in NOLA when we went to our apartment to rest and relax for a bit between activities and excursions.

These are what I came up with for #creativechallengegonewild.

I also was able to work on my #listersgottalistAUGUST challenge. I'm loving the color schemes of both of these!

And lastly, here's my coffee quote of the day. Its so true.

Yay! I got school supplies!

Technically not 'go to school' supplies but learning supplies. I ordered a hand lettering book by Mary Kate McDevitt and it has very useful application lessons and space in the back for practice. I'm going to get a lot of pleasure using it and learning more. I'm working on my Day 06 Challenge now and hoping it comes out as nice as the vision in my head! I also ordered Tombow brush pens and bought erasers, colorful sharpie fine point marker pens and a few other goodies! I feel like a kid ready for school!

Two More #listersgottalistAUGUST challenge Days in the books.

Here are my Day 04 and 05 for the challenge. Mixed media is my usual preference, starting with a printed page with the Title/Header flags and digital scrapbooking paper and typed text. Then I add all the goodies, stickers, stamps, chipboard, ephemera, washi tape, etc. to come up with something visually appealing to me.

Therapy

I prefer mine in a coffee cup.

Hand Lettering Day 05

There's nothing quite like the feeling when you set your heart on accomplishing something and coming very close to what you wanted it to be. I'm pretty happy with the way this looks. I am to be quite honest studying and researching a lot of hand lettered signs online, Pinterest is especially helpful in finding great examples. I am studying how they position the words in reference to the ones around them and how you can add pretty strokes to make them interesting. There is a lot of measuring involved and I need to soften up my pencil marks so I can more easily erase them, but we're getting somewhere. :) The gift of artistic creativity is a blessing, I am choosing not to waste the talent God has given me and I'm attempting to develop it, because it brings me joy and I find it relaxing.

Day five of the #creativechallengegonewild is the question . . . What's with the Llama?
Here's my take on it.

@kmalarson

Hand Lettering Challenge Day 04

I've spend a few hours watching hand lettering tutorials on YOUtube and am thoroughly enjoying this new found artistic expression. I'm pretty proud of how this one turned out. I've got to work on my planning a little bit better and find new erasers that don't make my paper yellow and smudge my ink. (or maybe I needed to let it dry longer before erasing) This type of art is like therapy, my late Aunt Judy used to do a lot of ink art, I know she would have been amazing at this type of lettering, she may have been and I just never knew about it! I sure do miss her, she was such a wonderfully artistic person.

Take Aways - Little List Note Cards

I enjoy making lists and I've created these little lists to keep track of the important things I need to do when I go into town to run errands and shop. Lists make me happy and keep me organized!
