The Invitations are made…

… and the tea party is scheduled for next Saturday. I’ve been working on a theme, sewing and designing for a few weeks now and I think Kali and four of her little friends are going to have a fabulous time celebrating together. I was inspired by Melissa Lester at A Little Loveliness blog, the party she had for her daughter’s birthday was beautiful, I borrowed her idea to make the girls pajamas, but since we live in the south where our summers are long I made a summer pajama. A friend of mine and I appliqued the girl’s initials on the camisole using fabric we used to make a sweet little purse. The shorts, which I had my friend Barbie whip up for them are made with a tiny black and white checkered fabric and trimmed in pink rickrack. Here’s Kali with her little pajamas on. I can’t wait to see all five of them dressed in their jammies!

Kali PJs Web I found a few craft activities for them to make and they will be creating their own little pizzas and decorating their own cupcakes at the party too. Here’s a peek at the invitation, we used our black and white check and pink theme for the invites. I created the card with Fotofusion and a few scrapbooking papers by Shabby Miss Jenn Designs, then matted it on a sweet little bubblegum pink sparkly scrapbook paper I found at Hobby Lobby. I made a sweet little label and our little kiss sticker sealed the back perfectly.

Here’s a peek at the little purses I made for the girls, their pajama set is inside and I’ve clipped each girl’s hair bow to her bag. I had a blast making these bags with my friend Keisha, the girl is crafty and man can she sew!

The bags are about 10 inches wide and eight inches high, the straps are made with black ribbon with white polka dots which match the lining fabric. Keisha has a lovely monogramming machine and she was sweet enough to monogram these bags for each of the girls. Thanks for all of your help Keisha, Kali and her friends are going to love these bags.

Kali is sleeping over tonight, along with the twins and she was so excited to see everything we have planned for the party. Here’s one last sweet smile from Kali.

Tomorrow I will post about our gift packages and a few of our other plans. SO much of the fun is in planning these parties for this sweet girl!

I can't wait to see either! I'm so impressed with the making of the pjs and the pretty little bags. I wish I had been this creative when my girls were little. I hope I have granddaughters!
