Talent and a Pretty Spring Dress

I have two very talented Godmothers. Both of them in their own right. One is an artist, she paints, creates beautiful stained glass windows and decorates her home with exquisite style and taste. The other is a seamstress extraordinaire, she designs and creates the loveliest of garments. I asked her to take some fabric I had in my sewing cabinet and make whatever her heart desired with it ... for my girl Kali. I also gave her a few little patterns. She came up with this delightful little sundress. The white fabric is pique and the fabrics she used for the petals of the flower are all seer sucker fabrics I collected over the years. Thanks to Nanny Joyce for this beautiful dress for Kali, she's going to LOVE it! I'll make sure to take a photo of her in it for you to see!

Hi Katy...

So happy that you stopped by for a visit today...and thank you for your sweet comments! You know, I think you mentioned that little green pitcher being called Jadite before...and I completely spaced it out! Sheeeshhh...old age! Hehe! Thanks for letting me know the name of it! I hate to add "insult to injury" since you said that you have been looking for one, but if I remember correctly I found that at this dear little elderly woman's yard sale...ohhh my, what treasures she was selling!!! I think I only gave a quarter for it! It has the feel of crockery to me...and I love old crocks!!! Sure hope you find one, my friend!

Okay, let's talk about this pretty little dress that your god mother made for your little girl...it's sooooo precious!!! I just love the pretty fabric used for the flower petals and that sweet rick-rack edging...precious!!! I bet your little one will be adorable in this pretty dress!!!

Happy Easter, my friend!

This will be one to keep in the old trunk that she will show to her children one day and tell her all about her nana!! Just as memorable as old quilts that our grandmothers made for us...so, so cool! Will become the heiloom that she keeps forever, filled with memories!!
