Flea Marketing in Lafayette

First Deb and I went to an estate sale, nothing much there for me, but she found a few things she loved. When we went to Where Pigs Fly... I got lucky! I found an adorable serving bowl and platter that match my robin's egg blue dishware and the kicker is that there's a magnolia in the middle of each. Its a lovely color and pattern! The other two things that I picked up which are note worthy are two cajun cook books, Enola's is signed by the author! I also came across a bicentennial plate with The Shadows on the Teche on it. It'll be a lovely display plate in my new kitchen :) The last thing I have to share is the Framed Tabasco Brand Pepper Flake advertisement. I found it on a previous trip to Crossroads in Opelousas last week. I don't even remember Tabasco marketing this product, probably was discontinued before I was born! Its a lovely find though and I'm happy to have it, I'm sure I'll find a place for it in the new house!

Katy...
I found your blog via the Thursday Tablescapes, and I wanted to say 'hi'! I'm originally from Louisiana, and I 'met' Deb earlier when I was blog hopping! I can hardly wait to go home for a visit so I can get to some of the places you have mentioned in your blogs. Have you been to Grand Coteau to all the shops there? We have something similar here in Spring, but on a much larger scale.
It's nice to meet some fellow Louisianians! You have a lovely blog!

Katy, thanks for posting on my blog. As soon as I saw those plates you got I thought how lovely they would look with our robin's egg blue plates. Love the magnolias, girl!! I've been searching for just the right plates to mix with them, but haven't found any. So now I have bowls you want, and you have plates I want. LOL!! Guess we have the same great taste! We're transferring to Savannah this summer so I'll really be a southerner soon. ;)
Blessings,
Linda
