Valentine's Day Table Setting

I really do enjoy setting a pretty table. Our kitchen table is set simply with a soup bowl and salad/sandwich plate. I used these red and cream dishes for Christmas with a totally different look, and loved them with these roses for Valentine's day as well. I created a monochromatic layout of cream colored papers and elements to highlight the rich red in the images using all Shabby Miss Jenn products. 1st Trip to Lollil & Pop's House

I created this layout using Shabby Miss Jenn's kit "Cheerful". Thats exactly what we were when we had the little guys over for a Sunday afternoon. Click on the image to see larger version and credits in my DST gallery.

Kitty in Her Pocket

Kali got the cutest little black kitty with a pretty pink nose in her Happy Meal, she had a fun time playing with it at Alex and Eli's house. I used all Shabby Miss Jenn products for this layout.

First Visit to Lolli & Pop's House

Our boys came over for a few hours on Feb. 10th while Mom & Dad went to see a good friend. They arrived in their carseats but didn't stay in them for very long. After eating they napped on Lolli's love seat for a good long while. We're having them over for a few hours tomorrow night and we're so excited, we can hardly wait!

I'm the first born twin of Mama Claire and Daddy David. I was born just a few seconds before my brother Elijah James. Today I am two weeks old and I am drinking three ounces of milk and keeping it down. Like my brother I'm not a fan of the diaper changing sessions. I have tinkled on many people, and now they are very careful when they take my diaper off. I'm prone to spitting up on anyone who rocks me in a rocker. This isn't a good sign for future trips to Disney World. I may get queasy like my daddy. Hahaha!

I'm the second born twin of Mama Claire and Daddy David. I just turned two weeks old today. I have a brother named Alex Scott who was born a few seconds before me. I am expressive and happy. I can already drink three ounces of milk and keep it all down. I don't like having my diaper changed because its cold and I will occasionally tinkle on whoever is changing me if they take too long and I get a chill. Daddy says my poopy is like silly string, so I made some on his pants when he changed me. Hahaha!

Reading in the Boy's Nursery

Kali had a fine time reading in Alex and Eli's nursery when we went over last Thursday. She enjoys their story books and can't wait until she can read them on her own to the babies. She was very excited that we registered her for "big girl" school yesterday for the fall school semester. She will definately be reading to them by Christmas time. on Kali's Baptism Day - Summer '04.

These simple words are from the mouth of a three and a half year old, they are comforting to hear, but still difficult. This afternoon's conversation after preschool with my girl Kali wasn't at all the typical banter we normally have. She asked to see her mom after school, and then asked if her Daddy was still in heaven. Her father, Byron was in a horrible boating accident on Saturday afternoon and he's gone. He was a very close friend of our son Davey's since early childhood, vacationed with us often and the father of our only granddaughter Kali. He was as much a part of our family as anyone actually blood related and our hearts are broken with his passing. He and my daughter Krista had a good relationship and were good friends and always had the best interest of Kali at heart. Until tonight, I just couldn't find the words to express myself and compose a post on my blog. I will spend the next few hours scanning photos of him that we had in our albums and that his family has shared with us to create a slide show for the wake and for all of us to have memories to keep, especially Kali. So please say a prayer for little Kali, for our family and for his Wife, Mother, Father, Sisters, Brothers in law and his neice and nephews, in the next few days, the wake and funeral will be especially difficult for everyone. He truly will be missed for our hearts are hurting and broken.

Rest In Peace Byron, we love you.

Daddy Loves His Boys

I'm so looking forward to tonight when we get to babysit the boys for a few hours while Claire and Davey celebrate their friend Brooke's birthday. We'll have new photos of the boys on the blog tomorrow for sure! I can't wait to get there and snuggle with our sweet boys Alex and Eli!

Our boys are growing too fast. These last three weeks have flown by! On Thursday they were three weeks old and are both drinking four ounces. On Thursday night they BOTH slept for six hours before waking for a bottle. THAT sure made mom proud, and dad was so rested he got up for the feeding even though it wasn't necessary!

Mardi Gras Fun NOLA Style

Our Mardi Gras experience in New Orleans was a huge success again this year! Big Poppa took his girls to the city for a whole lot of fun and festivities. The parade route was colorful and exciting, Kali and Erica enjoyed the parades the absolute most! Catching beads (which were, for the most part, left behind with other guests of the city due to a shortage of space in the car) was a huge blast! Seeing the grand marshals of the parades was also fabulous. Kevin Costner and Hulk Hogan were riding in our two favorite parades, Endymion and Bacchus. Les Miles, Head Coach at LSU was also on a Bacchus parade float along with lots of the 2008 National Championship Football team members.

We also enjoyed the flavor of New Orleans, from Popeye's delicious fried chicken to Alabi's late night yummies and oysters at the Bourbon House, everything was fabulous!

More photos to come in the next few weeks as I add pages to our family scrapbook.

For all her apprehensiveness and worry, Claire has certainly proven herself as a good lil mama, she's attentive and loving (not that we ever thought she wouldn't be) but she's doing such a great job with the boys and their care. Taking care of a new baby is a huge job, taking care of twins can be quite overwhelming and she is certainly meeting the challenge and triumphant! Alex and Eli are sleeping between three and four hours between feedings, eating 3 ounces on a regular basis and growing already! Its hard to believe they're already three weeks old today. They're sweet little guys and its easy to want to see them every single day, I miss them so much when I don't see them for longer than 24 hours!

To Remember the Roses

Claire has a sweet friend who visited after the twins were born and brought lovely peach roses, they brightened the house when it was gloomy out and were too beautiful not to photograph. I used Shabby Miss Jenn's sweet new kit "Playful" to create this layout.

Busy Night and New Pics

After returning from our New Orleans Mardi Gras celebrating I spent the night at Davey and Claire's house helping out with Alex and Eli on Monday night. Claire made a trip to the hospital to get a little issue checked out and ended up spending the night so they could watch her situation. She's much better today and back at home after the Dr. put her on stronger meds. The boys had a good night, eating very well and sleeping soundly between feedings. I took lots of new photos and have some here to share with everyone. I will be scrapping more of them in the coming days and sharing them here on my blog.

The beautiful rose was given to Claire by a sweet and thoughtful friend, I just had to capture a photo of it in full bloom. Its such a lovely shade of peach.

Kali spent the day with Aunt Alexa since everyone was out of school and Dave's got a little bug and is recovering quickly and Erica is spending one more night at my sister Deb's house while enjoying Mardi Gras with her cousins. I'll be back tomorrow with Mardi Gras pics from N.O.L.A.

Sidenote: The images of the boys on their tummies were taken while napping under the constant supervision of both Honey (Claire's mom) and Lolli (me). We wouldn't think of leaving the boys sleeping on their tummies without a constant watchful eye. Eli is on the left and Alex on the right in both of the images of the little guys.

Dave and I are in New Orleans enjoying a weekend of parades with Alexa, Erica and Kali. Friday night we went to a few parades and yesterday we attended four fabulous parades on Canal Street. We all loved the daytime parades, but when Endymion rolled through the city last night it was indeed beautiful, bright and colorful! Dave caught a bead thrown by Kevin Costner, who was the grand marshal of Endymion. It is now the coveted prize of Erica Celine. She still has the one thrown to her by Taylor Hicks who was a grand marshal in 2007.

After sleeping in a little bit today we are heading out to have a yummy lunch at Mena's Palace, then we'll be going to the parade route to await the daytime parades. We've got more than enough beads and baubles, boas and dabloons... we just adore the whole parade atmosphere.

We are looking forward to tonight's big Baccus parade the most. It is one of the oldest krewes in the city and its sure to be a fabulous night! HULK Hogan will be the grand marshal of the shenanigans and it will be fun seeing him in person.

I can't wait to get home to our favorite two little guys and get some sweet kisses. I'll be spending some serious time scrapping new photos of them and a whole bunch of Mardi Gras New Orleans 2008 photos too!
