Super Sight!

Alexa had Lasik surgery this morning and everything went very well, she's resting in my bedroom right now. She was very excited and nervous this morning, then we saw a rainbow on the way to Lafayette and she felt like it was a sign from above that everything would be fine. Its the simplest blessings from God, like the sight of a rainbow to calm someone's heart and remind them that there are angels watching over them. I'm including the last photo I shot of her this morning wearing corrective lens glasses. She's going to be so happy not to need them or her contacts!

St. Marcellus VBS

I just dropped the little ones off a few minutes ago at Vacation Bible School and they were all settled in and having a fun time. They were so excited at breakfast time with Pop and told him all about where they were going, Kali told them what kind of activities they would be participating in and the little ones got very excited.This is Kali's third year going and Alex and Eli are attending this year for the first time. One of their teachers is Claire and Davey's good friend Kathy and she's keeping a watchful eye out for them. (Thanks Kathy!) I know they're going to have a fun morning.

Fabulous Guest Accomodations

Dave knew exactly what would make the little ones excited about going to bed! Pop really is more fun than a barrel of monkeys! He put up a tent in the dining room and the three kiddies had fun playing in it before bedtime! He and Alex ended up spending the night in there and I'm sure Alex will be excited to wake up there this morning, as I type this they're still sleeping. Here are a few shots of the campers.

Overnight Guests

... with special accomodations. Since we have the three little ones over for the night Dave decided that an adventure needed to be the order of the evening. They brought out a tent and set it up in the new dining room (the furniture won't be delivered for a few days yet) and he's snuggled up in there with Alex right now. Eli isn't feeling good, so he and I will be hanging out in the master suite together and Kali's decided she needed to sleep with her Godmother upstairs tonight.

Before bed this evening Kali and the boys played with a new set of building blocks Pop bought for them and afterward Kali read a few books to Alex and Elijah. They were so attentive and curious about the stories. Goodnight Moon Goodnight!

Sunday Visitors

Today Zach, Kris and Ian joined me, Dave and Erica for a little pizza lunch. After lunch Kris had some studying to do and it was nice and quiet in the living room for her to get to it. Alex and Eli came over in time to have their nap on the chaise and they'll be spending the night while Claire and Davey go to Houston until Tuesday evening to take care of a little work business for Claire. Pop has a few surprises planned for tonight, I'll show photos tomorrow of their adventure ... and Kali will be joining them.

Kali's Busy Saturday

Kali spent the day with us yesterday at the new house, she and I spent a little time snuggled on the chaise in the living room and read Madeline's Rescue before she dressed for her big night out with Jack, Ethan, Carter, Aunt Stephanie and Uncle Skip. Kali went to Mass with them before going to supper at Bojangles and then to a play at the IPal Theater. Before she left we took a few photos of her on the stairs.

New Exterior Shots

These are just a couple of photos of the exterior of the house, the front door is one of my favorite features of our home, I used the design in several elements inside the house as a jumping point for style. The exterior and interior shutters have been installed, I am really happy with how all of them came out.

Guess where we're sleeping tonight?! Its one year today that we broke ground on our new home. New photos coming soon! I'm waiting for the builder to remove a scaffold so I can get a good exterior photo! Sleep tight!

Very Happy 4th of July

We had a super time with the family at the pool yesterday here at the Caribe, vacation has been a real pleasure, we're so thankful that Claire and Davey found it in their hearts to allow the boys to stay with us and we're so lucky that they did. This is the first year they are on vacation with us WITH Dave and he's enjoying them tremendously! Here's a photo of the three little ones dressed to go to Cobalt for dinner yesterday evening. I'm going to share lots more photos soon! I hope y'all had as wonderful a fourth as we did!

Kali Wins Again!

This little girl has a heap of determination and a great attitude. She spent a few days at CHS attending the Dance Team’s Summer Dance Clinic. The theme was Hawaiian Luau and she was hula-ing her way to another super win. She was awarded the big spirit stick for her age division and we are so proud of her! Way to go Kali! You’re an excellent little dancer and we love your ‘give it your all’ attitude! Super great job! Here are some highlights of the performance the dancers had for the families. Her second cousin, Kayla also attended the dance clinic and is pictured with her in some of these shots.

Three Fabulous Dads!

I’m so fortunate to have three of the most wonderful men in the world in my life. My own father, Donald, my husband, David and my son Davey are all absolutely fabulous fathers. They’re loving, giving, tender hearted, hard working, generous and really great people. I’m proud of each of them for their ability to love their children with their whole hearts and to be a shining example of what great fatherhood is all about.
