Happy 4th Birthday Alex and Elijah!

Yesterday we celebrated Alex and Elijah’s 4th birthday with a Blast Off Space party for them, friends and family joined us for a fun filled afternoon at Davey and Claire’s house. The boys were blessed by so many with wonderful gifts and birthday wishes. Our theme was inspired by two cool little astronaut suits that Dave bought the boys on our Christmas time trip to the Natural Science and History museum in New York city and what a blast we all had at their party! The invitation, cake, party favors and banner were just too cute for our space cadets who wore their astronaut suits! I created all of these party printables with Kate Hadfield’s kit “Blast Off” which was simply perfect.

Here is the cake which was inspired by our invitation, it was made by Miss Penny who made all of their birthday cakes since their first! She is so talented and surprises us with each cake we order! We were so tickled that she could recreate Kate Hadfield’s little rocket from her Blast Off kit into the cake design~

 

Here are the treat favor bags we made for their friends and cousins who attended the party. Claire cut out a lot of little rockets for the treat bags and they really set off the theme for the party!

Included in each favor bag was a space themed sucker, a little styro foam space shuttle glider and delicious fruit snacks and Nerds.The boys love these veggie straws so we included them in the party favor bags with twin astronauts on the gift tag.

  Aunt Kissy made a sweet treat and Claire bagged it up and we attached a thank you treat topper to the bag.

Little astronauts need to stay hydrated while they’re playing at the birthday party, I created this little Happy Birthday label to go around the bottle. The party colors were bright and cheerful! Our space shuttle pinata was a big hit at the party!

Davey and Claire served chili fritos and hot dogs for the guests along with fresh squeezed lemonade made from Papaw Don’s lemons.

 

I created a little banner for the birthday boys using Kate’s Blast Off kit elements and some string. It really set off the cake table area!

We had two very happy astronauts blowing out candles at the party! More party pictures to coming this week!!

Twin Blast Off Party Coming Soon

I created a cute little invitation for Alex and Eli’s 4th birthday which will take place in a few weeks using Kate Hadfield’s awesome Blast Off kit. I’m going to be working on the party printable package in the next week and will showcase them soon!

Christmas Time in New York

This holiday season Dave and I took our two youngest to NYC the week of Christmas. Alexa and I went Christmas 2009 and this was Dave and Erica’s first trip to the Big Apple. We enjoyed a leisurely week, saw Wicked and Jersey Boys, Alexa also saw Phantom of the Opera one night when Dave, Eri and I did a little Christmas Shopping. We also spent half days each at the American Museum of Natural History  and Metropolitan Museum of Art.  We all had a wonderful time, here are a few photos I shot there with my little point and shoot camera.

Royal Sonesta Teddy Bear Tea

This Christmas Season just before our trip to New York Krista and I took Ian, Kali, Alex and Eli to the Teddy Bear Tea at the Royal Sonesta in New Orleans. The children loved seeing all of our favorite holiday characters and of course Santa. They took photos with some of their favorites!

The singing and story telling was, as always, wonderful! And a very Merry Christmas was had by all!

Family Christmas Cards

Kali: October 2011: 2nd Grade

Here’s a photo of Kali that I took this week, she’s in Mrs. Polk’s class this year and is a second grader. She loves reading and is a very good student. We’re proud of our girl Kali. Aunt Erica curled her hair before school on Friday, which was grandparents mass. Dave and I were able to attend together and that made Kali very happy.

Kali’s AR Party

Kali is going to the Accelerated Reading party at her school for meeting all of the reading and testing qualifications of the program. We're very proud of you Kali for always doing well with your reading and school work. You're a great reader! We hope you have a great time at the party!

All Cammo All The Time

When it comes to getting dressed… the twins love their cammo gear, it doesn’t matter if its shoes, crocs, boots, pajamas, shorts or pants, they will always be happy with it. This morning when I spotted their foot wear lined up next to the door I had to take a pic of it and share in a layout about their little obsession. I used Shabby Miss Jenn’s “Snuggle Up” kit to feature this photo and story in a layout.

What’s cuter and sweeter than a bucket of monkeys!

I gotta say that these two boys have totally stolen my heart and have me wrapped pretty tightly around their little fingers. They’re as sweet and loving as they look and are all boy! Just had to share this sweet photo of them with all of you!

Their parents are pretty adorable too! Claire and Davey, September 2011. He’s running for District 13 Parish Council and we couldn’t be prouder of his commitment to making his community the best place it can possibly be, he’s going to raise his children here, where he grew up and we’re backing him 100%. We would be grateful for the support of those living in our district. Make sure you vote on October 22nd.

His hat is in the ring and his heart is in his family life and wants the best for all of us in this community.

One little piggy…

We’ve had quite a few animals on our little farm over the years, this little piggy was one of the most unique looking ever! I created this little layout to remember her using Shabby Miss Jenn’s sweet little Pumpkin Farm kit.

Wedding Day (Kit by Shabby Miss Jenn Designs)

I made this lovely layout using Shabby Miss Jenn’s latest “Wedding Day kit” it was perfect for a bridal photo I shot of Krista last fall just weeks before her wedding to Zach.

Alex and Eli are enjoying GBH and Kali is in the 2nd grade at SES this year, they’re loving their teachers and are so good at school! Alexa and Erica have started college again, Lexi at ULL and Erica in her first year at LSU in Baton Rouge. We moved her just last Friday and miss her already!

Here she is in her lovely new apartment bedroom, she designed and I painted the canvas hanging above her bed, she loved it and that made me very happy :)
