Our Pool Princess

Kali's such a sweetie and loves to model for me, here she is out at the pool. I got the adorable little elephant cover up for her last summer, this year she can wear it without it touching the ground when she walks and she's too cute in it. Can you believe this sweet little bikini I picked up for her at Family Dollar was a whole $5?!

Fun in the Sun!

This morning the boys had an absolute blast in the water. Alex braved the water with a super jump! Not bad for an 18 month old... Watch below!

Beautiful Gulf Coast

We're thoroughly enjoying our vacation on Alabama's Gulf Coast. From our balcony at the Caribe we have a lovely view of the beach and the bay.

Here are a few views of the pools at the Caribe. The one between the buildings is perfect for the boys during the heat of the day because its shaded.

Here's a pic of the putting greens at the Caribe. The fountain in the middle is so pretty!

Pool Time!

The boys really do love the pool this year, they love splashing in the water, playing with the fountains and exploring. Mom and Dad are having a time keeping up with both of them! Kali's really doing well with her swimming and Erica teaching her a little more every day!

Erica Celine

This morning Eri went down to the pool with Alex, Eli and Kali.

First thing this morning before getting on their swimsuits and going down to the pool.. Kali, Alex and Eli had a yummy breakfast of fresh fruit and waffles.

Our Caribe Resort Condo

We've stayed at the Caribe for the past four years in one particular unit, which we loved, but this year because it wasn't available for the dates we needed, we booked a different unit. Its really lovely. Here are a few photos of the master bedroom, the den/dining/kitchen and bar area. I love the sleek modern lines of the furniture and the fresh green of the den.

This afternoon after we arrived Erica and her friend Tori took Kali for a swim while I settled into the condo. After their swim they came back to the room for an early supper of pizza from the Caribe Oasis deli. Then the three of them napped while I went to the grocery store. After I got back and put everything away I made some yummy chicken salad and tuna salad. I love having a few delicious things ready to eat when we take a break from the pool or beach. I also made spaghetti for the twins earlier this week, its one of their favorite things to eat, so that's ready and waiting for them as well.

Tonight around 9PM Davey, Claire and the twins, Alex and Eli, arrived. The boys had a burst of energy and ran around the condo for a good hour and a half before they were ready to go down to sleep. We set up a few pack and plays in the media room and they're snuggled in. I'll take pics of their room tomorrow. They're usually in bed for 7:30 every night, I think their parents are wishing for a little extra sleep in the morning by allowing them to stay up later tonight!

I can't wait for tomorrow morning, the boys and Kali will go down to the pool in the morning before its really hot to swim and play in the water. I'll be down their with my camera and have pics to post in the afternoon!

I hope everyone had a relaxing and peaceful Sunday!

I'll be checking in tomorrow from the beach...

I'm heading east tomorrow, I'll be logging in from the Caribe Resort in Perdido Key tomorrow afternoon. Photos of the fun to follow!

Island Tablescape

My sis Deb and I sure had a relaxing vacation. We enjoyed making a few meals in our little cottage. This was one of our breakfast tables and a photo of the gorgeous view out of the window. Supplies on the island were limited because the supply boat had a breakdown at Black Point and took a few extra days to get to Staniel, but we managed to come up with a few lovely breakfast meals for the four of us.
Click on the Thursday Tablescapes on the right side bar on my blog to see the other participants along with Susan of Between Naps on the Porch blog.

Where we've been...

Captions are below the images.

Today I'm going to put up a few photos of our favorite places we went while on our trip to Staniel Cay, Exuma, Bahamas. The trip was extra special because we were able to share it with my sister Deb and her husband Norm. Every day there was a new adventure to be had and man did we experience them in full effect! The island of Staniel Cay is fabulous in and of itself, but the ability to travel in our little Boston Whaler every day to surrounding islands made this trip extra special. The weather was fabulous, we never got any rain and only on one day, when we went to Ospray Cay did we watch rain and a little weather go around us for a while. We dined on delightful meals, both those we made ourselves at our cottage and at a few local restaurants on Staniel and one on Sampson Cay.

This is a little photo I stitched together myself from five photos I shot from the porch of our cottage.
The arial view of Staniel Cay is labeled to show a few of the highlights in the area. I will show more photos of the different parts of our journey in the coming days.
This is an arial view and photo of Sampson Cay. We had a fun time going there almost daily. The little grocery store is better stocked than what we found on Staniel and we had to get gas for the boat there too. We spent some time in the little Sampson Cay bar and restaurant too. One of the islanders who helps run the place who is named "Food" sure showed us a good time. He gave us a tour and some dance lessons!
This is Sandy Cay, I LOVE this little island more than any other, the sand bar, the water, the views and how very pretty everything is makes it my very favorite. I could have spent more time there, but we had a lot of other islands to explore and adventures to experience.
This is Compass Cay. The lighthouse is at the entrance to that area of the chain of Exumas. We didn't spend time on the island but we did pass there often on our adventures.
These two photos above were taken of Osprey Island, it was full of birds and conch and man was it ever gorgeous. We waited out some rain that was to the northeast and southeast of us for a while here and thankfully it was overcast during that time and we were comfortable.
This photo of Norm and Dave snorkelling was taken at Pirates Beach on Staniel Cay.
This last photo is of Twin Cay, we also spent an afternoon playing in the sand and around the beach there.
The photos above were shot by either me, Deb or Norm. I forgot the charger for my Sony camera and after the first day I didn't have my own camera, Deb and Norm shared theirs with me, but the montage of photos and who shot them is a wash of mixes, we do have over 1200 images though between all of us and we owe thanks to Andrew for allowing Deb to bring his camera with her! Thanks Buddy! I'll be posting more this evening or in the morning.

Beach Bound Bubbas

We're heading to the beach in a few weeks so I found the cutest little boy's sailor outfits for the twins this past week. They sure are adorable in them, Eli was ready for a nap after their morning bath on Saturday and wasn't too happy about posing for photos, hopefully at the beach he'll be more cooperative, gotta make sure they've had good afternoon naps before trying this again! Hopefully we'll have a pretty family beach photo to hang in the new house when we move in next year! Have a happy Monday!!
